We purchased over 50 systems from Pony. They went out of business as Pony Jan 2001.
We have deleted our prior postings which mentioned CGS Technology. We have no knowledge as to its principles or its form of ownership and have no knowledge regarding any legal connection it may have to Teacco or Pony Computers.

From what i have heard, a company named Teacco bought out Pony and continues to honor the system warranties, I have dealt with Teacco recently and was very happy with the service.

This company has been very hard to deal with, and now seems to not exist. We, a reseller, find ourselves holding the bag on any still in warranty computers we have sold to our clients. Their Denver, Co. branch has disappeared, their web site is gone, and their phones seem to be no longer in service. We can not seem to get through to headquarters, as their phones seem to be off. So much for trusting a white box manufacturer.

I not only am employed by this 12 year old company for 7 years but I have purchased all the computers for my home network here and refer my friends and family to this company as well as donate the same computers to Non-Profit Organizations for the elderly to learn on and so that children might have a opportunity to use their first computer. As a Sales Manager, we from time to time deal with a multitude of contributing personalities and factors that would determine whether a customer is satisfied or not. Our goal is for 100% satisfaction, nothing less. We can prove that when you do decide to do business with us. We do not let you down. Pony Computers has a clean reputation with 20,000 resellers and dealers and our reputation speaks for itself. For questions concerning computer product or proceedures, call me at 800-989-7669 ext. 2240

One of Pony's Sales Reps (Cindy Mustafa)sent me an Excel sheet in an email document on their specials of the month. The document contained a virus which I promptly cured. I wrote back to Cindy telling her about the virus and asked to be removed from their mailing list. Here is her reply:
Actually my file was made from the new Office 2000 and your cheap
virus-scan program did not know what it was.
I am with a computer company and would not or could not send you a
virus, however, I will take you off of the data base to receive cost
pricing.

I would NOT call that professional at all!! I am a network administrator and would not implement "cheap" virus software on my network. How does she explain the fact that the file was cured?

I have been a Pony customer for years, and I have never once been disappointed with parts or system bought. The sales people are bright and truthful. When I have had to have items replaced, the service was prompt and friendly!

Pony screwed up the order to our lab worse than anyone I've ever seen. See below for a list of the problems we had.
1)Shorted one Ultra2-SCSI HD
2)Sent wrong HDs (2 Quantums instead of 2 IBM)
3)The power supply was DOA
4)Sent wrong sound card (16-bit CL ISA instead of 128-voice Ensoniq/CL PCI)
5)SDRAM not seated properly, we had to call and get permission so that the warranty wouldn't be voided to reseat
6)Sent the wrong motherboard (Asus P2B-D instead of P2B-DS, big difference when you need that Adaptec 2940 to use the HDs)
7)One of the HDs actually caught FIRE during boot-up. No lie, our researchers noticed a pungent burning smell but we couldn't figure out where it was coming from until we saw smoke coming from the case of our new Dual P-II 450. When opened, actual fire was coming from the HD, and almost immediatly an alarm started sounding from the motherboard.
I recommended that we return the piece of crap, rescend the PO, and go with a different company (I suggest that you do the same).

Pony is a very good company. I have purchase many
computers for my company over the years. i have never
had any problems with them. One time a monitor went bad
after a few weeks. I called them and had new on on my desk the next day.

Hi, I'm Dave. I buy from Pony, as a reseller. I buy
from the Sales Manager only. I have to say (honestly),
everyone of their computers are great. The people are
great. I wish I could give them more business. They
never have given me a string of stupid letdowns. If
you are a reseller, I'd seriously look into Pony
Computers as a supplier. By the way, their prices are
very competitive and the quality is very good,
sometimes makes me think the salesperson is cheating
himself. :-)
